Budapest
Budapest, the capital of Hungary is considered by many visitors to be the "Paris of the East", because of its particular charm. Budapest came in to being in 1872 by the amalgamation of three previously independent towns, Obuda, Buda and Pest. The richest thermal and mineral springs of Europe are to be found in the area of the city of Budapest. The highest point of the city area is János-hegy (529 m). The lowest point of the city is in the region of Csepel-sziget (97 m above normal water-level).
